Residents urged to cash-in on free money advice
Free and friendly advice to help people worried about money avoid getting into debt this Christmas will be on offer at a series of sessions taking place in Walsall next week.
Caldmore Housing Association has teamed up with Walsave Credit Union and the Walsall Money Advice Project, to run a Money Advice Week from Monday, 5 December to Friday, 9 December between 2pm and 4pm.
Visitors to Caldmore’s head office in Caldmore Green will be able to get confidential advice and help about a host of money matters, from bank accounts and savings to managing bills.
Advisors will also be on hand to answer questions about budgeting, give out information about applying for loans from responsible lenders and explain why it’s important to put rent first this Christmas.
Jay Gill, Housing Services Manager at Caldmore Housing Association, said: “The festive season can be a very expensive time of the year so it’s really important that people plan ahead and prioritise to avoid getting into debt.
“Our friendly advisors will be available all week, offering information about everything from why it’s important to put rent first this Christmas to how to set up a direct debt or a bank account.
“The advice is free and confidential so we would encourage anyone worried about money matters to drop in and find out more.”
Caldmore, part of the Accord Group of housing associations, is a charity which provides 1,800 affordable homes, and a range of support services, to people across Walsall.
